Our Story

Lendstream’s goal is to leverage our 125+ years of combined experience in commercial financing to create an affordable and reliable funding solution for small business owners. We listen to the objectives of each entrepreneur on a case-by-case basis and recommend the best solution to help them accomplish their goals.
Lendstream was created in 2018 by a team of credit professionals who have been focused on the small business space since 1993. Since that time we have underwritten, acquired and managed over 16,000 small-balance commercial credits, and serviced over 5,000 SBA loans between 7(a), 504, and disaster recovery.
We’re a flat organization where ownership and senior management are one and the same. Everyone works together to swiftly evaluate and process lending opportunities.

Meet The Team Behind Lendstream


Kale Gaston


Kale joined Lendstream Small Business Finance in September 2019. In his capacity as President, Kale has the overall responsibility for the SBA lending business. He has 30+ years’ experience in commercial and SBA lending. Prior to joining Lendstream Small Business Finance, Kale was the Head of SBA Lending for Bank of America. Other positions include the Head of SBA Lending for TD Bank, a regional manager with Wells Fargo SBA Lending and held various positions including National Sales Manager for GE Capital Small Business Finance.
Kale began his career at an SBA 504 Certified Development Company (CDC), was Executive Director of a CDC as well as starting a small community bank SBA lending department. He is a Board Member of the National Association of Government Guaranteed Lenders (NAGGL) as well as the National Association of Development Companies (NADCO). He received his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Bethany College in Lindsborg, Kansas and his MBA from The Wichita State University.

Jimmy Jarrell

Senior VP

Jimmy recently joined Lendstream Small Business Finance as an SVP after working for TD Bank as a VP in the Commercial Loan Department specializing in SBA lending for the last 6 years. Jimmy previously spent 5 years with two Delaware based Community Banks and worked the prior ten years at Citizens Bank. He has more than 20 years’ experience in the Commercial Banking/SBA industry specializing in the Greater Philadelphia marketplace although Lendstream has a National SBA presence.
Jimmy was awarded the 2014 SBA Small Business Champion Award in Delaware, was a member of the Delaware Business Times 40 under 40 Class of 2015, was the 2019 504 Company New Jersey SBA 504 lender of the year, and was the 2020 Coleman Report SBA BDO of the Year winner.
Jimmy earned a BSBA in Finance from the University of Delaware and an MBA from Goldey- Beacom College. He is a Past President with the Delaware Foundation for Science and Math Education and The Chairman of the Board with True Access Capital (Formerly The First State Community Loan Fund), a CDFI and CDC located in Wilmington, DE. He lives in Delaware with his wife and two children.

Tara Kelly

VP of Business Development

Tara joined Lendstream Small Business Finance as a BDO in the first quarter of 2020. In her capacity she originates SBA loans in the New York Metropolitan area. She has 20+ years of experience in commercial lending of which 10 years were in SBA lending. Prior to joining Lendstream SBF Tara was a Commercial Lender for Carver Federal Savings Bank for six years financing CRE and SBA loans in the New York and New Jersey market. She was the top lender at Carver exceeding her annual goals of $20MM to $30MM. Tara started her lending career with Citibank, went on to Hudson United Bank, CIT SBA lending, Bank of America as a Client Manager, and found her calling at Lendstream SBF. Tara has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from Nyack College, NYU credit analysis and Omega credit trained.

Antonio Zate

SVP, Business Development

Antonio Zate, aka AZ, is a 30 year financial professional with a proven track record of success. AZ has helped originate over $5 Billion in loans to small businesses. He has led top performing business development teams at Wells Fargo Bank, Bank of America, and GE Capital over the past 25 yrs., and has been a top performing BDO as well. AZ began his career as an Accountant and CPA, as well as financial consultant with Merrill Lynch. He was later recruited by Wells Fargo Bank where he completed his first SBA loan in 1994. Since then, AZ has gone on to help build and grow some of the highest performing SBA and commercial loan origination teams in the industry. AZ brings decades of SBA knowledge, experience, and expertise.
AZ has always been a Southern Californian. A University of Redlands graduate, he resides with his family in Sierra Madre, CA.

Keith Nigbur

SVP, Business Development Officer

Keith Nigbur has been in the banking and finance industry for 15 years with experience in commercial lending, government guaranteed lending, and commercial real estate finance. He has worked for organizations such as Wells Fargo, US Bank, AmericanWest Bank and First Utah Bank.
Small businesses are the building blocks of our country and are a critical component to the strength of our local and national economies. Providing access to capital for entrepreneurs and innovators is vital.
Over the past 15 years, I have become proficient in providing creative financing solutions to small/medium sized business owners. My goal is to provide each client with the best possible commercial loan experience and that means delivering what was promised, and on time.
Keith graduated with a Master’s degree in Business Administration, and enjoys spending time with his wife and four children


Dohnie Royster

SBA Closing Manager

Dohnie joined Lendstream Small Business Finance in January 2020. In his role as SBA Closing Manager, he will have the overall responsibility for packaging loans for SBA approval and closing and disbursing the loans. Dohnie has 15 years’ experience packaging and closing SBA loans. He spent four years with Wachovia Small Business Finance as a loan processor in California then moved to Charlotte to assist with the opening of the Wells Fargo SBA East Coast processing center. He was a loan documentation specialist until mid-2018 and then was promoted to lead one of the East Coast closing teams.

Erin Pavlich

Compliance Director

Erin Pavlich is the Compliance Director for Lendstream Small Business Finance, LLC. In her roll as compliance director, she works with loan origination, loan servicing and loan operations to ensure compliance with SBA SOP and company procedures. Erin began her career as a lawyer assisting clients with securitization and other similar transactions at Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft, LLP and later worked as associate with Alston & Bird, LLC working on loan origination, loan servicing actions, and liquidation. Erin focuses on writing and enforcing procedures, documentation, monitoring loan operations, and consulting on loan origination and liquidation matters.
